Does image matter when playing sport?

For many sport is not only to make them feel good but also to look good!  Are you one to worry about your choice of workout clothes? Are global brands such as Nike or Adidas important to you or do you prefer to wear whatever you are most comfortable in?
If how you look when you are exercising is important to you then perhaps Image Matters can help.
Image Matters is about enhancing your appearance using colour to suit your lifestyle and budget!  Your hair, eye and skin colour reflects what colours are naturally best for you - you can look ten years younger by just wearing your colours!  This is essential for first impressions i.e. at the gym, in a running group or at a new sports club!

SPOTY

There is no doubt about it - this has been the greatest sporting year in British history. Let alone the athletes, sports fans across the nation have dreamed of such success in a wide variety of sports for decades and it seems they have all come at once! So often the year is brought to a close in December with the Sports Personality of the Year award but seriously who is going to lift the trophy?

Wiggo, Murray, Simmonds, Peacock, Hoy, Poulter, McIlroy, Ennis, Farah....the list could go on! Popularity contest is the name of the game but in my eyes every outstanding athlete this year should get one!

Remember the days when it was all about football....

Paralympics

Despite the advert breaks on Channel 4 the coverage of the Paralympic's 2012 has been phenomenal! From in-depth discussions on the rules of the different sports, explaining different disabilities and providing knowledge on each athlete it has been so gripping to watch. But what has been your favourite moment or highlight? Do you have a particular sport you enjoy the best to watch? Do you play any of these sports yourself? Jilly's so far..
Highlight: Paul Blake's celebration to silver medal in T36 400m
Fav sport: Goalball
Inspiring: All of it!!

Football finances

With the performances of Olympians in mind; are male professional footballers wages really justifiable? With equal pay in certain sports, should female professional footballers get paid the same amount?

Secondly, with regards to the well publicised debts and struggles of Rangers Football Club and the punishing consequences enforced- in your opinion will the Glasgow club ever be able to reach such heights again? Is this the beginning of more football clubs financial states exposed and hung out to dry? Will there be an impact on Scottish football or not?

London 2012- knock on effect?

Certainly if you are watching British television channels it is very hard to avoid any sort of Olympic coverage at the moment...but I'm certainly not complaining!
Much has been written about the positive effect the Games is going to have on our nation becoming more involved in sport and especially encouraging young people to get active. Do you agree that this may happen?
Can increased media attention alone attract youngsters to want to be like these sporting stars? Will everyone now in Britain be going places on two wheels instead of by car? What do you think?

Technology and sport

Sitting watching Wimbledon and Murray taking the first set with "Hawk-Eye" technology to thank.
Do you agree with the involvement of technology in many sports today? Is it more reliable than human decision making? What sports should introduce technology?
I know football has a big claim now to introduce goal line technology and video replays for penalty decisions- what do you think?

Sports sponsorships

Fast food, alcohol and gambling. These are often the main sponsors of certain sports tournaments, events and teams.

Do you think this is right? Do you take little notice of sponsors? Should more responsibility be taken on message's that are being portrayed by sponsors? Or is it all a money game?

Let me know your thoughts and leave some comments at the bottom of the page!

Flower of Scotland

Does the national anthem get you riled up before an international match? It holds such historic relevance filled with passion and pride. But perhaps, it should have a more upbeat tempo or be not so focused on battles with the auld enemy? Do you find yourself getting more up for a rugby match per se with the tune of the French, Italian or perhaps Irish anthems?

What are your thoughts? Any suggestions on what a different anthem could be? Or happy enough with O Flower of Scotland...

Footballers tekkers

Not a footballer myself but certainly have tried to pretend I am one in fun social games, I am interested in one tekker in particular...
Do step overs actually make an impact? The amount of times Ronaldo flys his legs over the ball when he is running amazes me! How can you do that and not trip over the ball?!
Let me know who you think has the best step overs in the bizz and do you think they really do confuse a defender!

Sports participation

I am interested to find out what makes you choose to play sports or not?
What makes you take an interest in being active or not?
Is it due to health being important to you or perhaps health as an issue to overcome?
Do you participate due to good accessibility to sports facilities?
Are there any sport facilities in your area?
Do you not have enough time or some sports are too expensive or sports just don't interest you?

Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!
